Overview
Paperly is made by Kalpiko Labs, a one-person indie app studio. This policy explains how Paperly handles your information. It applies only to the Paperly mobile app for iOS and Android — not to any other app or website.
The short version: Paperly does not collect any data. Everything happens on your device. If you have any questions, email us at support@kalpikolabs.com.
Nothing leaves your device
Your files never leave your phone. Every Paperly operation — merging, compressing, converting, turning photos into a PDF — runs entirely on your device. There are no network calls for processing, no server, no third-party conversion API, and no AI service. The contents of your files are never transmitted anywhere.
Data we collect
None. Paperly has no accounts and no login. We collect no personal data, we have no analytics or advertising SDKs, we show no ads, and we do not track you across apps or use advertising identifiers.
This is reflected in the stores: our Apple App Store privacy label is “Data not collected,” and our Google Play Data Safety declaration states that no data is collected and no data is shared.
No AI, no servers, no third parties
Paperly intentionally uses no AI or external AI service and talks to no server. Adding those would require sending your files off the device, which would break the on-device promise — so it is deliberately out of scope. Your documents and photos stay yours.
Data retention & deletion
Your files and your recent-file history live on your device only. On-device only; uninstalling the app removes all data and recent-file history.
Permissions used
Paperly requests as little as possible, and only when a feature needs it. The purpose strings below mirror what you see in the app:
- Photos / media — reached through the system picker (PHPicker / document picker). Paperly does not request broad photo-library access.
- Files — reached through the system document picker; no special permission is required.
- Face ID / biometrics — only if you turn on the optional App Lock, to lock the app on your device. Biometrics are handled by the operating system; no biometric data is collected or leaves your device.
Paperly does not use your location. If you decline a permission, the related feature is simply unavailable; the rest of the app keeps working.
Children
Paperly is a general-purpose utility, not directed at children under 13, and — because it collects no data at all — it does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, children included.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Paperly handles data, we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the app.
