Overview
Receipt Keeper is made by Kalpiko Labs, a one-person indie app studio. This policy explains how Receipt Keeper handles your information. It applies only to the Receipt Keeper mobile app for iOS and Android — not to any other app or website.

A note on “Finance”
Receipt Keeper is listed under Finance, but its scope is deliberately limited. The app stores the purchase records you capture — entered by you or read by AI from a receipt photo — locally on your device only. It does not connect to your bank, does not access any financial account, processes no payments, and gives no financial advice. It is simply a place to keep and search your receipts.
Data we collect
Receipt Keeper has no accounts and no login. We collect no personal data for ourselves. Your receipt images, the extracted fields (merchant, amount, currency, date, category), your notes, and all of your history are stored only on your device. There is no analytics, no advertising, and we do not track you across apps or use advertising identifiers. Receipt Keeper shows no ads.
Only one thing ever leaves your device: the receipt image you choose to scan. It is sent once per receipt to our AI provider so the app can read it, and nothing else — no accounts, no profile, no other data — is transmitted. This is described in the next section. Everything else stays on your phone.
The AI receipt reading
To read a receipt, the single receipt image you capture — together with a short text prompt — is sent once per receipt to an AI service provided by Anthropic (the Claude API). The service returns structured text (the merchant, amount, currency, date, category, and a suspected warranty length), which is stored only on your device. Nothing else from the app is sent.
We ask for your consent in the app before the first receipt is ever sent. Reading only runs when you choose to capture a receipt; nothing is sent in the background.
Retention: the image and the returned text are not retained server-side beyond the provider's short processing window — Anthropic auto-deletes API inputs and outputs within 30 days — and they are never used to train AI.
Data sharing & third parties
Other than sending each receipt image once to our AI provider (Anthropic) to read it, we do not share your data with anyone. Receipt Keeper contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and no cross-app tracking or advertising identifiers.
Data retention, export & deletion
Your data lives on your device only. You can export everything as a CSV plus a zip of your receipt images at any time, including before deleting. Uninstalling Receipt Keeper removes everything. Inside the app you can also clear it all at any time: Settings → “Clear all data”. Provider-side copies of a scanned image auto-expire within the provider's short window (within 30 days).
Permissions used
Receipt Keeper requests only the permissions it needs, and only when a feature requires them. The purpose strings below mirror what you see in the app:
- Camera — to photograph your receipts.
- Photos / media — handled through the system picker, so you can take a new photo or optionally pick an existing one. Receipt Keeper does not request broad access to your photo library.
- Notifications — to remind you before a warranty expires.
Receipt Keeper does not use your location. If you decline a permission, the related feature is simply unavailable; the rest of the app keeps working.
Children
Receipt Keeper is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Receipt Keeper handles data, we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the app.
